Core principle: the calculation stays in your browser

SchichtNetto is a purely client-side application. Tax year, federal state, tax class, church tax status, health insurance fund's additional contribution, age, number of children, salary figures, working hours, shifts, and surcharge rates are processed exclusively locally in your browser to calculate your result.

This information is never transmitted to a server, never stored in a database, and never placed in cookies or your browser's local storage. If you close the tab or reload the page, all entered data is irrevocably gone. There is no account feature and no way to save a calculation.

Server log files at the hosting provider

This website is hosted by Netlify, Inc. When you access the site, Netlify automatically records technical access data in server log files, including IP address, date and time of access, page requested, browser type, and referrer URL. This is technically necessary for any web hosting in order to deliver the website at all and to protect it against misuse (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, legitimate interest in secure and functional operation).

We ourselves have no access to the content of these log files beyond what Netlify provides as the hosting provider, and we do not specifically evaluate them. Details on retention period and processing by Netlify: netlify.com/privacy. Netlify may transfer data to the USA; Netlify's own safeguards apply to this (including standard contractual clauses).

Fonts

The typeface (Inter) is embedded locally within this website and is not loaded from an external provider such as Google Fonts. Loading the page therefore does not transmit any data to third parties for the purpose of font display.

Cookies

This website does not use any cookies — neither strictly necessary ones nor cookies for analytics or marketing purposes.

Local storage (localStorage/sessionStorage)

Since the introduction of the English language version, your browser stores your most recently chosen language (German/English) in its localStorage, so that a language switch can be handled technically. This is not cookie technology and involves no transmission to any server — the value stays exclusively on your device. When switching between the German and English versions, your already-entered form data is also briefly cached in sessionStorage so it isn't lost, and is automatically deleted again immediately after the target page loads. Neither ever leaves your device, and both are deleted at the latest when you close the tab (sessionStorage) or manually via your browser settings (localStorage).

Advertising

Two advertising placeholders are reserved in the result area, technically prepared for Google AdSense. They are currently not connected to any advertising network — no scripts are loaded, no cookies are set, and no data is transmitted to advertising partners there.

Once Google AdSense is activated, the page will load scripts from Google (including pagead2.googlesyndication.com, googleads.g.doubleclick.net). Google may then use cookies or similar technologies to serve and potentially personalize ads; data may be transferred to the USA in that process. Before activation, this privacy policy will be updated to reflect the services actually in use, and a consent solution (a cookie/consent banner following the IAB TCF standard) will be put in place beforehand, so personalized ads only load after explicit consent — without consent, only non-personalized ads (or no ads) will be shown.

SSL/TLS encryption

This website is delivered over an encrypted HTTPS connection, indicated by the lock icon in your browser's address bar.

Your rights

Since SchichtNetto does not store or transmit any personal data about you, most of the following rights are, in practice, without much substance in relation to using the calculator itself — but they apply in full, for example if you contact us by email. You have the right to:

• Erasure of your data (Art. 17 GDPR)

This policy describes the actual current state of data processing and will be updated as soon as anything about it changes — for example through a future advertising or analytics integration.
